Ok, I will be taking some pictures of my homemade bondage sex toys this coming weekend. I will then post them for you to see what kind of bondage gear you can make. For now I will start off with how I made a spreader bar really cheap and it looks great.
Here is a picture of an actual spreader bar that is adjustable. You can purchase this adjustable spreader bar for $56.10 at Adult Toys Bondage.
The bondage bar I made is not adjustable but I wanted to give you an idea of how much they cost. The bar I made only cost me about $15 and I have to say I was not price shopping for materials when I was shopping for the parts.
I went to my local home improvement store, like Home Depot, Lowes and such, and purchased a 1 inch thick wooden dowel. They came in 4 foot lengths so I cut mine down to 36 inches.
I then went to a local fabric store and purchased a yard of leather-like material. This material needed to be somewhat stiff. meaning it didn't stretch too much. I know a yard is a lot but we used the same material for our cuffs and hog tie.
My wife cut and sewed a strip of the material to snugly fit over the entire length of the wooden bar leaving about 1 inch extra on each end. This gave the bar a more professional look. I then drilled a small hole in the center of each end of the dowel and screwed in some eye hooks. You can get the eye hooks with lag threads at your home improvement store. Nothing too big, mine have a 1" eye and the length is 1.5 inches.
Next I folded over the extra material and started screwing in the eye hooks. This held the ends in place and finished covering the wood. I will update this post with a picture of the finished product soon. But hopefully you can see now that it is possible to make some bondage sex toys yourself and save some money. In the future we plan to make an adjustable bar that hopefully will cost even less to make.
